PUNCAK - In a heartfelt initiative, the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, recently brightened the day of Gelegi Village residents in Puncak Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On October 18, 2024, the soldiers, led by First Lieutenant Caroko, served free lunches to the community, demonstrating their commitment to social welfare.
Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, commander of the 323 Task Force, emphasized the importance of connecting with local communities. "It’s vital for us to support the basic needs of those around us, " he stated. Since their assignment in Papua, the Pintu Jawa Post has actively engaged in community outreach, blending security duties with social initiatives.
On that sunny afternoon, soldiers set up at the yard of Stasi Santa Sisilia Church, where they distributed meals to residents enjoying a break. The interaction was warm and friendly, with smiles all around as locals accepted the delicious lunches. A delighted resident, Aksamina Waker, 45, expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Commander 323! We are full. God bless you!"
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the HABEMA Commanding General, lauded the 323 Task Forces for their efforts, stating, "This initiative showcases TNI's dedication to supporting the community and fostering development in Papua." His recognition highlights the essential role of the military in community building, inspiring hope for a brighter future.
This event not only nourished the bodies of the residents but also strengthened the bonds between the military and the community, creating a shared sense of optimism for the region's development.
